FAQs

Q: How much does it cost to get an estimate for repairs?

Nothing! Estimates are free to property owners and insurance companies.

Q:When will I get my estimate?

The time it takes to create an estimate depends on the size of the job and complexities involved in the repair process. An estimator assigned to your project will create a scope of repairs, utilizing estimating software compatible with most insurance companies. Once the scope is created, Halo can send it directly to the insurance company for approval. The estimates can also be sent electronically to our customers, further speeding up the process.

Q: Why should I choose Halo over a remodel contractor?

  • Halo specializes in insurance repair, so they do away with the guesswork and streamline the process to get things back to normal quickly and efficiently.
  • Halo staff members are skilled at recognizing potentially hidden damages, enabling them to create comprehensive estimates for repairs.
  • Halo staff members continue to communicate with insurance companies throughout the repair process, and can submit bills directly to the adjuster.
  • Halo employs an in-house interior coordinator to supply clients with design samples and assist in designing finishes in the home or business.

Q: When will the work start?

The following requirements must happen in order to begin a project:

  1. A scope of repairs must be been agreed upon by either the insurance company or the property owner.
  2. Materials must be secured.
  3. Labor must be scheduled.
  4. In addition, projects requiring engineering and permitting can begin only when Halo has received the appropriate documentation from the necessary agencies.

Q: How much will I have to pay out of pocket?

For insurance losses, generally the property owner will only be liable for their deductible, which varies depending on individual policies. Please check with your insurance company if you are unsure of your deductible amount.

Q: Is insurance going to cover my loss?

Each insurance policy is different. If you have questions regarding your coverage, please check directly with your insurance company. Halo will work on your behalf to ensure all damages which are covered under your policy will be addressed by the insurance company.

Q: Can Halo upgrade or remodel my home during the insurance repair process?

Yes! As a general contractor, Halo can perform all phases of construction, from simple upgrades to a complete remodel. The best time to renovate your home is when it is already under construction. Halo will prepare an estimate and change order for your approval prior to commencement of any changes or upgrades.
