Last October my daughter Hailey came home from school with a flyer for the Relay for Life. In her class they had talked about cancer, finding a cure, the American Cancer Society, and most importantly about Andy. At that time, Andy’s passing was fresh on everyone’s mind and Hailey became determined to start a team to raise money for the fight against cancer. She is a remarkable young lady!

The first wind storm this winter definitely packed a punch. Halo crews have been responding all over Western Washington since Tuesday afternoon, helping homeowners who have been devastated by fallen trees and limbs. Halo’s General Manager, Jose, even suffered a tree strike on his own home. Of course Jose called Halo for the emergency service and crews were there in 30 minutes cutting up the tree and tarping off the roof. As soon as Jose and the crew were finished with Jose’s home, they were out responding to other homes where trees had fallen for the rest of the night.

It is the time of year again where as a company we prepare for our "busy season". Unlike most contractors, restoration contractors are busiest in the winter season. Whenever there is a storm or inclement weather, we are one of the few contractors that head-out to work. The idea of building a house in the dry summer months seems easy to Halo employees. Our people are out working in rain, snow, hail, wind and anything else Mother Nature throws at us.

We recently had a company picnic honoring the employees of Halo Construction. For the second year in a row, Halo held the company picnic at the Everett Aquasox Baseball game in Everett, WA. This year the employees and their families were treated to a delicious BBQ dinner before the ball game and a fireworks display afterwards. It is nice to be able to spend time outside of work with the people who are our teammates during the work day. We were excited that most every employee was able to make it to the picnic, even those employees from our Tacoma office. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the only problem with the evening was that the Aquasox lost in extra innings to the Yakima Bears.

In this tough economic time, Halo has the exciting opportunity to add two new people to the staff in our Tacoma location. Our Tacoma operation has been a successful venture for Halo since it officially launched last fall. The office has had stable growth and now requires the addition of two employees!

As an owner of Halo Construction, nothing makes me happier than to know that the customers of Halo are satisfied with the service and products that they receive from our company. I have the opportunity to view all customer comments that we receive after our work is complete. I take great pride in the fact that most every customer sends comments of their satisfaction. I enjoy sharing these comments on our Testimonials tab as a way of recognizing the employees that make up Halo Construction.
